Sustainability Science Research Centre

The Sustainability Science Research Centre (SSRC) of the Academy will carry out activities in order to:

•    establish cooperation with relevant academics and experts in Georgia, in the region and worldwide in order to contribute to the development and enhancement of sustainability science in Georgia;
    
•    publish Academy’s quarterly international scholarly journal (in Georgian and English) – „Sustainability Science“;

•    conduct research in Georgia in the field of sustainability science;

•    conduct research in Georgia in the field of education for sustainable development (ESD);

•    organize conferences, seminars and workshops on the topics of sustainability science and education for sustainable development (ESD);

•    promote in Georgia awareness-raising on the role and significance of sustainability science and of education for sustainable development (ESD)  for the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);

•    establish a library (material and digital combined) in the field of sustainability science, comprising thematic books, textbooks, scholarly articles, also masters and PhD theses,  in various languages;

•    translate from foreign languages, into the Georgian language famous books, textbooks and scholarly articles in the field sustainability science. 

•    assist preparation of new books, textbooks and other teaching materials in the Georgian language by Georgian authors and experts in the fields of sustainability science and education for sustainable development (ESD);

•    prepare the Georgian language dictionary of sustainability;

•    establish Academy’s publishing house - „Sustainability Science Publishing“ to ensure publishing of above mentioned research and education resources.
